Actions
Action blocks enable you to engage users at various points in their journey, update/request detail and update attributes.

Send an email

This action will allow you to select an email template sent to all users who have triggered the journey. Depending on your destination, you will need to access your email marketing tool and create an email template suitable for the journey through its UI.
For example, to send an email through Sendgrid destination, you will need to access your Sendgrid account and create a specific email template.
To configure the action:
  1. 1.
    Enter your "From name"
  2. 2.
    Enter email topic in "Subject field"
  3. 3.
    Enter sender's email (needs to be verified via Sendgrid) "From email address"
  4. 4.
    Select "Template" from the dropdown list (needs to be created in Sendgrid account)
  5. 5.
    Select an attribute to map the "Email field"
  6. 6.
    Add consents (optional). Consents will allow you to control who will receive the email. For example, If you have collected GDPR consent for "Marketing" purpose consents, you can send emails to users who have given an agreement to the purpose.

How to add variables to you email

If you want to personalize your emails (for example, address the users with their first name), you will need to configure your attribute mapping (accessed in the destination configuration).
After you map the attribute (for example "first_name" to "sender_name") you can use the name of the mapped attribute in your email template.

Send a SMS

This action will allow you to send an SMS message to all users who have trigger the journey.
To configure the action:
  1. 1.
    Select your messaging destination (for example, Twilio
  2. 2.
    Enter your message (max 160 characters)
  3. 3.
    Send a test message to yourself, this will allow you to see how the SMS will be displayed on the phone.
  4. 4.
    Select an attribute to map the "Phone field"
  5. 5.
    Add consents (optional).

How to add variables to you SMS message

If you want to personalize your SMS message (for example, address the users with their first name), you will need to configure your attribute mapping (accessed in the destination configuration).
After you map the attribute (for example "first_name" to "sender_name") you can use the name of the mapped attribute in your SMS message body template (configured in the "Send a SMS" action).
To add the variable use the the attribute name and add double brackets.
The message body would look like this: "Dear {{sender_name}}, we missed you!"

Add or remove recipients

This action will allow you to add/remove users to your email destination contact list.
To configure the action:
  1. 1.
    Select your messaging destination (for example, Sendgrid)
  2. 2.
    Select if you want to add or remove users from the contact list.
  3. 3.
    Choose the contact list (loaded from email destination).
  4. 4.
    Select an attribute to map the "Email field"
  5. 5.
    Add consents (optional).

Send a ticket

This action will allow you to send a ticket to your destination service desk.
To configure the action:
  1. 1.
    Select your ticket priority (High, medium, low)
  2. 2.
    Select the status of the ticket (open, closed)
  3. 3.
    Add the subject field
  4. 4.
    Enter your message that will be sent to the selected service desk.
