Tasks

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Overview

The Task feature enables you to create simple reminders for actions that users need to take on the platform. A task can be created manually or automatically through a Journey flow.

Tasks help users stay on top of key activities such as calls, emails, or LinkedIn interactions, and they can be tracked through filters and analytics.

πŸ“˜ Good to know

  • Tasks can have different types (Call, Email, LinkedIn, or Custom).

  • LinkedIn tasks include additional sub-types (View LinkedIn Profile, LinkedIn General, Send Message, Send Connection Request, Interact with Post).

  • You can assign tasks to specific users and link them to Deals.

  • Analytics allow you to track task completion, priorities, and performance by team members.

Creating a Task

  1. Go to the Accounts section -> Tasks tab and click Create task.

  2. Fill in the task details:

    • Task title – a short description of the action (e.g., β€œCall client about proposal”).

    • Task type – choose from:

      • Call

      • Email

      • LinkedIn (with sub-types)

      • Custom

    • Priority – Low, Medium, or High.

    • Assign to – select the user responsible for the task.

    • Associate with user – link the task to a specific user profile.

    • Deal (optional) – attach the task to a Deal.

    • Due date & Time – set deadlines.

    • Description – add notes or context.

  3. Click Create to save the task.

Use Tasks inside Journeys

You can also automate Task creation within Journeys to trigger follow-ups and reminders based on user or account activity.

To do this:

  1. Open or create a Journey.

  2. Add a Task action at the desired step in the workflow.

  3. Define the task details, such as type (Call, Email, LinkedIn, or Custom), priority, assignee, and due date.

  4. Optionally, assign the task to a specific User, Account, or Deal for better context.

  5. Save and activate the Journey.

When a user or account reaches that step, Intempt will automatically create the assigned task and notify the responsible team member.

Benefits of using Tasks inside Journeys:

  • Automate follow-ups: Automatically assign call, email, or LinkedIn tasks to SDRs or account managers when leads show key intent signals (e.g., form submission, demo request, or engagement spike).

  • Ensure timely action: Prevent missed opportunities by triggering reminders as part of the Journey flow β€” no manual task creation needed.

  • Improve team coordination: Assign tasks to different team members (sales, marketing, or CS) based on Journey logic to ensure smooth handoffs.

  • Enhance deal tracking: Link automated tasks to specific Deals for better pipeline visibility and accountability.

  • Scale outreach operations: Use Tasks in Journeys to balance human touchpoints with automated nurturing β€” ensuring every lead or customer receives the right action at the right time.

Managing Tasks

You can view and filter tasks in the Tasks table. Filters allow you to organize tasks by:

  • Type

  • Status (Completed or Pending)

  • Assignee

  • Due date

This makes it easy to manage workload and prioritize activities.

Task Analytics

Analytics provide insights into task performance, completion rate, and team productivity.

Key metrics include:

  • Completed Tasks – number of tasks finished within the selected timeframe.

  • Pending Tasks – number of open tasks.

  • High Priority Tasks – tasks marked as High.

  • Completion Rate – percentage of completed tasks.

  • Leaderboard – shows which team members completed the most tasks.

πŸ“˜ Good to know
Analytics can be filtered by timeframe (Today, 7D, 30D, 3M, etc.) and by assignees.

Example Use Cases

  • Sales follow-up: Assign a call task to reach out after a demo.

  • Outreach automation: Create LinkedIn tasks from a Journey flow.

  • Team collaboration: Track completion rates to ensure accountability.

  • Deal management: Attach tasks directly to opportunities for better context.
