Goal and Intent Events

Goal events and Intent events help you track how close users are to completing the most important actions in your product or store.

Updated over a week ago

Overview

Goal and Intent events allow you to measure how close your users are to completing the actions that matter most to your business.
By marking events as a Goal (final desired action) or Intent (indicator of movement towards that action), you can:

  • Track progress toward business objectives

  • Identify high-intent users before they convert

  • Visualize trends in user engagement over time

Once configured, the system calculates an Intent level for each user (High, Medium, Low) and displays a 30-day Intent trend graph on their profile, giving you both a snapshot and a historical view of their journey toward your Goals.

How Goal and Intent Events Work

  • Goal event – the final action you want a user to complete.
Example: “Purchase completed”, “Subscription activated”, “Demo booked”.

  • Intent event – an action that indicates the user is moving towards the goal, but hasn’t reached it yet.
Example: “Added product to cart”, “Viewed pricing page”, “Started checkout”.

  • Intent level – calculated score showing the likelihood of reaching the Goal:

    • High – very likely to convert

    • Medium – some intent, but not strong yet

    • Low – little or no intent

  • Intent trend graph – visualizes the frequency of Intent events for the last 30 days, helping you see whether engagement is increasing, stable, or decreasing.

Note: In the Data Processor, multiple Goal and Intent events can be set, but all contribute to the same Intent level.

Setting Up Goal and Intent Events

Step 1 - Select an event that you want to make an Intent event ot a Goal event
