Creating a product feed

Product feeds are sets of products selected based on filters you set in Intempt. You can choose to pin, include or exclude products from a feed based on category, price, stock level, etc. and how your customers have engaged with your products.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Product feeds take in data from your product catalog and customer behavior (e.g., the products they’ve viewed or purchased in the past) and use this information to provide custom product recommendations for your subscribers.

Before you begin

Product feeds are available by default for the following integration:

If you use an ecommerce platform that is not listed above, sync your product catalog into Intempt by following our guide on creating custom catalog source. You may need an additional tracking source to monitor events effectively:

How to create feed

Step 1: Open the feeds page

  1. Click on the Create a Feed button in the top-right corner.

  2. A popup will appear. Enter the name of your feed.

  3. Click Create to continue.

    Step 2: Set feed preferences

    1. Choose what type of products should be displayed first.

Example: Best-selling products in the last 30 days.

Step 3: Add filters (Optional)

  1. Click Add filter group to apply specific conditions.

  2. Filters allow you to:

  • Include certain products (e.g., products that contain “Dress” and have at least 1000 in inventory).

  • Exclude products (e.g., products that are currently on sale).

  • Pin specific products to always appear first (e.g., products that contain "Zara").

    Step 4: Finalize and save

  • Once you are happy with your selections, click Create Feed.

Your feed will be saved and appear in the Feeds list.

Managing Feeds

Users can view, edit, or disable feeds at any time from the Feeds section. The Status column indicates whether a feed is Active or Disabled.

Please note that once a feed is created, the initial selection for "What products should customers view first" cannot be modified

Use a product feed in an email

  1. Open an email in Intempt.

  2. Drag a Product block into your email.

    3. Choose a product block type:

    • Dynamic product blocks show products based on business trends or user behavior (e.g., best sellers in the last 30 days) or customized to each recipient based on what Intempt predicts they will be most interested in.

    • Static product blocks show a set list of items that you select.
Fill out the additional fields that appear based on your selection.

    • Click Done to save your product block.

Create a dynamic product feed

  1. Choose Dynamic as your product feed type.

  2. Click Create Product Feed.

  3. Create a descriptive name for your product feed.

  4. Set the criteria for your product feed. You can choose to show products based on overall performance (e.g., best-selling products) or recipient behavior (e.g., recently viewed items).

Manually select products from your catalog

You may want to hand-pick the right products to feature in a given template. With the Static option, you can browse your entire product catalog and pick up items to feature in your template.
