Event visualizer
Overview
The Event visualizer is Intempt’s simple point-and-click interface for defining events. Instead of manually logging events within code, you can define events by simply clicking around your website or app. No coding knowledge is required, though it is useful for refining your event definitions further.
Select Webpage & Launch visualizer
To use the Event Visualizer, navigate to the Segmentation tab and locate the Events product. Once clicked on the product, click on the Event visualizer button.

Once the Event visualizer button is clicked, the pop-up window will appear where you should specify the Source and URL of the webpage.

Once the necessary information has been entered, click Launch. You will be redirected to the specified URL. In the URL page, you will notice the Event visualizer overlay in the upper part of the page with Events, Define pageviews, Define events and Navigate site tabs.

In order to return back to the Intempt system, simply click on the Intempt logo.
If the Event visualizer toolbar is blocking an element you want to define an event on, simply click the arrow at the bottom to minimize it.
Using the Event visualizer to Capture & Define Web Events
To start defining events, users need to click on the Define Events buttons. This will allow you to select the desired website elements and assign them as Events. Simply hover over and click on the element you’d like to define an event for. Once clicked, a window will appear where you can review and update the definition of the event as needed before saving it.

The information listed in the window includes:
- Name - add a descriptive name to the defined event
- Definition - you can review the event definition contextually within the CSS of the page to ensure the scope of the event definition is correct
- Limit to URL - this allows you to narrow the event definition to only instances where the event occurs on this page
- Create event - once you’ve adjusted your event definition to your needs, click "Create event". On the next page, you’ll see options to name and categorize your new event. You can define an event in your personal or shared space
Events tab
Once the event has been created, it can be accessed from the Events tab in the visualizer tool. The Events tab displays all of the created/captured events.

Define pageviews tab
This enables you to define page view events without specifying any interaction event (like click). When clicking the tab, a window will appear where you can input the Name of the event and also the URL.

Navigate site tab
If you wish to navigate through the website, simply click on the Navigate site tab. This will allow you to go through the webpage as usual, without capturing the various sections of the website.
